Anybody born after 1980 pretty much grew up with technology as a staple of life. Today, these twenty-somethings, as well as their peers a few years older, have totally integrated technology into their daily existence. They embrace the latest and greatest technology as it's introduced, adopt it into their lifestyle, master its nuances and then move on to the next one. This is the generation that grew up with the internet and e-mail, and now exists on cell phones and text messaging.

Many baby boomers on the other hand remain somewhat skeptical of all of these technological advances, and are almost painfully slow to adopt them. These are the folks who prefer snail mail to anything else, and believe that if there isn't a cord attached to a phone, somehow it's not really a phone. But times have already changed drastically and will continue to do so. If you're stuck in this outdated mode of thinking, it's time for you to change as well.

From a financial perspective, a fear of technology and a reluctance to embrace it may well be costing you money. If you can manage to turn on a computer and find the internet, you've already mastered all the technology you need. It's as easy as that.
