Corporate Outings Increase Morale
Business » Human Resources » Employee Relations | By Art Gib @ Monday, 24th December 2007 @ 11:21 PM A company\'s success is not measured by a single factor. There are a myriad of factors that can lend to the success or failure of a corporate company including funding, management competence, working in a product or service that has a demand, and employee cohesiveness. The latter is perhaps the most complicated factor to measure and maintain as so many unforeseeable influences can cause extreme unpredictability in any given employee\'s level of job satisfaction. When considering... more...

How to Find the Best Employee for the Job
Business » Human Resources » Employee Relations | By Paul Sutherland @ Tuesday, 27th November 2007 @ 11:17 PM Frankly, a lot of businesses are only as good as the workers who handle the day to day activities and actually come in contact with the customer or client. However, finding the right person, to fill a position, can be a guessing game, unless you know the right questions to ask, in order to make an informed decision. For example, many potential employers make the common mistake of asking hypothetical questions, to determine whether the employee can handle customers, and related duties pro... more...
Staff Satisfaction Surveys Stink!
Business » Human Resources » Employee Relations | By Martin Haworth @ Tuesday, 13th November 2007 @ 3:03 PM Truth is, in many organizations, the doing of the survey is more than enough. Only rarely does anyone get down to what happens next. It\'s an easy fix for organizations to churn out the annual or even bi-annual (\'to show we really care\') survey to their people, to assess \'staff satisfaction\'. It is a great tactic for the Annual Report. Yet in most cases, it stinks! Once the results are in, they get analyzed at Corporate, Divisional and Area level. Any i... more...

Money And Time Will Never Just Be Left Over No Matter How Little You Work Or How Much You Make
Business » Human Resources » Employee Relations | By Helmut Flasch @ Monday, 5th November 2007 @ 6:08 AM
When I worked as a waiter in Austria, my native country, I worked hard (90 hours a week for about nine months in a row, never a day off). An American tourist told me that I was working too hard to ever make money. I replied that I loved my job and that I made good money. He smiled, patted me on the shoulder and said that he was happy for me. He added that he meant real money, lots of money, and that I could not make it while working so hard. 15 years later I understood what he meant. more...

Business » Human Resources » Employee Relations | By Cheow Yu Yuan @ Sunday, 21st October 2007 @ 10:57 PM With today\'s fast-pace living and business environment, there are more people who sink into day-to-day routines. Very early in the morning they have to wake up and go to work, facing busy traffic along the way. In the office, they are back to do the entire routine job like making reports, attending daily and weekly meetings, and so on. When the sun sets, they go back home, have dinner, rest and sleep. The next day, they are back doing all the same things yet again. And so on... Thes... more...

Anymore, the employees expect compensation to include more than a decent salary. Health care, dental care, adequate retirement plans, and many more op... more...
